“Is God going to send me to hell because I have had sex?”

“I am having sex 2/wk. How would I begin to let God into my life?”

“How do I know if I am a sex addict?”

“I have been raped. How do I find healing from this?”

These are a few of the questions that were asked as 100+ students packed out the back yard of Sig Ep Fraternity last Wednesday night as we engaged the topic of Sex & Dating from a Christian perspective through a panel discussion.

InterVarsity exists on campus to bring the good new of Jesus right into the middle of campus, and this is exactly what we did. We held a panel discussion to promote the Christian view of sex and abstinence until marriage. However, we were hoping and praying that we could communicate that God is not scared of the topic, and He isn’t a prude either. He created sex and wants to give us a great sex life. Will we trust Him? Will we wait till marriage and let God roll out his plan. Waiting for God’s timing of sex and marriage will bring you better sex than getting it yourself now outside of his blessing. Could you be open to that idea?

The clip below is Beau introducing the night and the topic of Sex & God.

The point of the night was to awaken people to God and cause them to think that His wisdom may just be better than their own on the topic of sex. We were hoping that students who are far from God would be open to Him after this event and start seeking him out in “God investigation Groups” led by fellow students.

One of the best parts of the night was watching Nick a leader in Greek IV and Sig Ep, emcee the event and then challenge his fraternity brothers and fellow students to seek God and give Him a chance. He was really vulnerable about his own journey, and bold!

Watch Nick as he challenges fellow students to seek God!

  1. This is outrageously inspiring! Thank you for sharing details/video clips from this event. I just got back from Intervarsity’s Chapter Focus Week and have been planning events with the leadership team of Indiana University’s Greek IV. I hope we are able to be as creative, confident, and bold in the Greek community as Nick has been in his!
